Gr 4 Up-Ruby "Pufferfish" Peet, a 12-year-old superspy with extreme allergies, must save her friends-and the entire National Espionage, Rescue, and Defense Society (NERDS)-from supervillain Miss Information. Formerly known as NERDS librarian Miss Holiday, the evildoer plans to take over the world with her Brotherhood of Unstoppable Liars, Lowlifes, and Intimidating Enemies of Society (BULLIES), which she's modeled after the society of superspies. When the BULLIES build a time machine to make sure the NERDS never existed, Ruby and some other team members travel to the 1970s to help the original NERDS and save the future. As with the other volumes, this book is written as a case file, which may make it difficult for some listeners to follow. Johnny Heller brings the book (Abrams, 2013) to life as he lends each of the many characters their distinctive voice. Full of comedy and action, this is a satisfying ending to the five-part series.-Amanda Rollins, Northwest Village School, Plainville, CT
